OUR HISTORY

NETbuilder Education has over 30 years’ experience of providing EDTech (or ICT) solutions to Education and Local Government in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. As you will see from the timeline however, not always as NETbuilder…….

  • 1983

The Audio-Visual Response Unit, based out of Severn Stoke Primary School and part of the then combined Hereford and Worcester County Council (H&W CC). Its main purpose was the installation and repair of archaic devices such as Over-Head Projectors and dot matrix printers. Structured cable and WiFi systems had yet to be developed.

  • 1989

IT Services based out of Perdiswell Primary School and still part of H&W CC. Moved to a unit in Finstall, Redditch.

  • 1998

H&W CC split into respective council controlled regions and the AVRU and IT Services combined and moved to Hampton Lovett.

  • 2003

A change in the leadership of the team prompted a change to the name and County Infrastructure Services (CIS) became the de-facto department for all things “technical” such as Data, Fibre, Wifi, CCTV and AV.

  • 2013

WCC divested its interest in CIS and sold it as a going concern to NETbuilder Limited, a Wigan based IT Managed Services company. As a wholly owned subsidiary of NETbuilder Limited it now became County Infrastructure Services Limited.

  • 2014

CIS Ltd takes the strategic decision to offer IT Managed services to its Education customers.

  • 2016

Another leadership change brought a new focus to the company and with it a re-branding exercise. Gone were the WCC colour-scheme and oak tree logo and in came a new and modern brand focussed on Education and Small Business markets. Operating as CIS-Tech, several new products were developed including Education Broadband, Hosted VoIP, Door Access and many more.

  • 2017

Due to staff growth, CIS-Tech uprooted from Droitwich and purchased a more suitable unit on the Aston Fields trading estate in Bromsgrove

  • 2019

Due to the continued growth of IT Managed Services and the successful implementation of several new products and services, CIS-Tech fully merged into its parent company NETbuilder Limited. To maintain its brand identity and historical links with Education the NETbuilder Education brand was created.
